Decode a Bitcoin payment QR before treating scan-and-pay as confirmation
A field-by-field review of Bitcoin payment QR data, covering address, amount, network context, label, fee, invoice timing and post-send evidence.

A QR code removes typing but does not remove the need to read
Bitcoin.org describes scanning a wallet QR code as a convenient way to receive payment. Convenience is not authenticity. A QR can encode an address, amount and optional context, but the camera does not know whether the invoice came from the correct account or whether malware replaced what the user expected. The decisive moment is the wallet confirmation screen: compare the complete destination and amount with the current authenticated invoice before signing, and keep the network fee separate from the value intended for the recipient. This is a verification and record-keeping method, not a prediction, payment instruction or promise about account access.
The source explains everyday Bitcoin use, fee choice, public transaction records and the user's responsibility to secure a wallet. It does not approve a merchant, an online gaming cashier or a specific QR. This article does not claim SignalBet supports Bitcoin for every user or location. It provides a review method only when an adult has independently confirmed that the route is lawful, available and displayed inside the authenticated account. A useful reading keeps the publication date, jurisdiction, product and unresolved questions visible instead of turning a narrow source into a universal claim.
Authenticate the invoice before opening the camera
A correct-looking QR copied into a message or webpage can still belong to an impersonator or expired request. That distinction matters because the scan should be downstream of account verification, not the method used to establish trust.
Generate or retrieve the instruction inside the authenticated account and record its invoice reference and expiry. A reviewer should be able to see verified hostname, account state, invoice ID, creation time, expiry, asset and support notice. Do not scan a code sent by unsolicited support or a social-media contact.
Read the decoded destination in the wallet
A visual QR pattern and a familiar label cannot substitute for the actual decoded destination. For this review, the wallet should display the address it will use even when the user did not type it.
Compare the complete address with the invoice using a second view or a carefully checked copy. Note invoice address, decoded address, comparison method, wallet version and match result. Cancel when the wallet hides the destination or the two values differ.
Separate requested amount from network fee
Bitcoin network fees relate to transaction data and processing priority rather than being money credited to the recipient. Combining the fee with the invoice amount creates an inaccurate deposit record and can break a spending cap.
Record recipient amount and estimated fee in separate fields before approving the total wallet debit. Record recipient amount, fee estimate, total debit, units, spending ceiling and decision time. Do not increase the deposit to compensate for a fee unless the authenticated instruction explicitly requires a different amount.
Check optional labels and timing without trusting them
Friendly text can be copied as easily as a logo and may survive after an invoice expires. The observable evidence is that a QR may carry a label or message that improves usability but does not cryptographically prove the recipient's identity.
Treat labels as notes, rely on the address and authenticated invoice, and regenerate instructions after expiry. The working record should include label, message, invoice status, expiry check, regeneration and new address comparison. Never use an old code solely because it worked in a previous session.
Reconcile the signed transaction once
Begin with what can be checked: After authorization, the wallet and public network record can show the transaction identifier, recipient output and confirmation state. A missing account credit is not a reason to scan again and create another intended payment.
Save the transaction ID and matching output, wait for the published condition and open one support case if needed. Preserve transaction ID, recipient output, amount, fee, confirmations, account status and case number, and apply this stop rule: Do not send a verification transfer or reveal wallet recovery material to support.
Use the source for the claim it can actually support
Bitcoin.org presents QR scanning as a practical payment method and explains that users can choose fees while transactions remain publicly recorded. Those facts support a split review: the invoice establishes the intended recipient and amount; the wallet reveals what the QR decoded; and the later transaction proves what was signed. None of those stages should be silently replaced by a second scan.
Bitcoin.org does not validate third-party QR codes, guarantee confirmation time or determine service credit. Wallet displays and URI handling vary. Users must rely on current wallet documentation, the authenticated receiving instruction and official support. A transaction is generally irreversible after confirmation, so uncertainty belongs before signing rather than in a recovery promise afterward. The source cannot authenticate a private message, approve a payment route, decide a customer dispute or replace the current rules that apply in the reader's location. Recheck changing dates, interfaces and availability at the official origin before acting.
Close the review with a decision record
The payment record contains the verified invoice origin, invoice ID and expiry, decoded destination, complete address comparison, recipient amount, separate fee estimate, total debit, wallet version, transaction ID, output, confirmation observation and account-credit state. It contains no private key or recovery phrase. One unresolved payment remains one case rather than becoming a sequence of repeats.
SignalBet is for adults 18+ only where lawful. Crypto fees and the recipient amount must fit one fixed disposable-money limit. Never borrow, chase losses or resend because a balance is delayed. Pause payments and play during any mismatch, and use timeout, self-exclusion or independent financial and gambling support when stopping is difficult.
SignalBet Guide keeps related safeguards in the responsible-play centre, sourcing standards in the editorial policy and practical explainers in the guide library. Those pages add context without replacing the named external source or current local law.
